Indian Pizza Recipe


Ingredients:

    • 500g all-purpose flour
    • 325ml water
    • 10g salt
    • 7g active dry yeast
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • For the Toppings:

    • 200g paneer (cubed)
    • 200g tandoori chicken (cooked and shredded)
    • 1 red onion (sliced)
    • 1 bell pepper (sliced)
    • 1 cup tomato sauce
    • 1 tsp garam masala
    • 1 tsp cumin powder
    • 1 tsp coriander powder
    • Fresh cilantro leaves
    • Yogurt (for drizzling)
    • Lime wedges (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
    • In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.
    • Gradually add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  2. Prepare the Toppings:

    • Preheat your oven to its highest setting (ideally 475-500°F) with a pizza stone inside.
    • Mix the tomato sauce with garam masala, cumin powder, and coriander powder.
    • Cook the tandoori chicken if not already prepared.
  3. Assemble the Pizza:

    • Divide the dough into 2-4 equal portions, depending on the size of pizzas desired.
    • On a floured surface, stretch each dough ball into a thin round shape.
    • Spread a thin layer of spiced tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Distribute paneer cubes, tandoori chicken, red onion slices, and bell pepper slices evenly over the sauce.
  4. Bake the Pizza:

    • Transfer the pizza to the hot pizza stone and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy, and the toppings are cooked through.
