 Exploring the Authentic Neapolitan Pizza

Neapolitan pizza, hailing from Naples, Italy, is the epitome of traditional Italian pizza. Known for its simplicity, this pizza is a celebration of high-quality ingredients and time-honored techniques. The key features of a Neapolitan pizza include a thin, soft crust with a slightly charred edge, a result of being baked at extremely high temperatures in a wood-fired oven. The toppings are minimal yet flavorful: San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil. This combination creates a harmonious blend of tangy tomato, creamy cheese, and aromatic basil, all on a perfectly crispy base.

Originating in the 18th century, Neapolitan pizza has since become a symbol of Italian culinary heritage. The Association Versace Pizza Napoleon (AVPN) was established to protect and preserve this iconic dish, setting strict guidelines for its preparation. Neapolitan pizza is more than just food; it's a cultural experience that connects you to the heart of Italy with every bite.
