Seafood Pizza Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 500g Typo "00" flour
  • 325ml water
  • 10g sea salt
  • 3g fresh yeast
  • 200g tomato sauce or white sauce
  • 150g cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 150g calamari rings
  • 100g clams, cleaned
  • 100g mussels, cleaned
  • 200g mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • Fresh basil or parsley leaves
  • Extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chili flakes (optional)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • Dissolve the yeast in water and let it sit for a few minutes.
    • In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt.
    • Gradually add the yeast mixture to the flour, mixing until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise at room temperature for 8-12 hours.
  2. Prepare the Seafood:

    • In a skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat.
    • Add the calamari rings, clams, and mussels, cooking until the clams and mussels open and the calamari is tender (about 5-7 minutes). Discard any unopened clams or mussels.
    • Add the cooked shrimp to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and optional chili flakes. Set aside.
  3. Assemble the Pizza:

    • Preheat your oven to its highest setting (ideally 475-500°F) with a pizza stone inside.
    • Divide the dough into 2 or 4 equal portions, depending on the size of pizzas desired.
    • On a floured surface, stretch each dough ball into a thin round shape.
    • Spread a thin layer of tomato or white sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
    • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
    • Arrange the seafood mixture evenly over the cheese.
    • Drizzle with extra-virgin olive oil.
  4. Bake the Pizza:

    • Transfer the pizza to the hot pizza stone and bake for 7-10 minutes until the crust is golden and crispy, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
    • Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil or parsley leaves.
    • Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side.
